course: Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) and the University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (UVAS) Monday signed an agreement to jointly offer short course in meat technology.
Tevta Chairperson Irfan Qaiser and UVAS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha signed the agreement according to which a three-month course in meat technology will at the main campus of the UVAS.
Irfan Qaiser Sheikh addressing the participants said the joint venture would increase employment opportunities for passing out students with better wages through capacity building in multi-skills enabling them to compete at local and international level.
Prof Pasha said faculty for training of students would be provided by UVAS and labs of the university would be utilised for training while bull/sheep would also be arranged by UVAS.
The admission process would be conducted by Tevta District Manager, Lahore and middle pass individuals would be eligible to apply while Matric pass candidates would be given preference to get admission. Two groups of 30 trainees each would be arranged in morning and evening shifts. The existing curricula available at Tevta would be implemented in consultation with the UVAS while Trade Testing Board (TTB) would conduct the examination and would issue the certificate to all successful candidates.
