The PTI and Prime Minister Imran Khan had been declaring a self-professed ‘holy war’ against corruption for long but the report by a trusted international organisation clearly indicated that corruption during PTI regime had increased in 2019 as compared to the previous year. It should be a matter of great disgrace and humiliation, he said in a statement on Friday.

He asserted that Prime Minister would have to strictly and keenly monitor his close aides and the bureaucracy of the country. It is an irrefutable fact that Imran Khan government has become extremely unpopular among the masses due to high inflation and is, hence, facing reaction from the general public, he said.

He expressed his great praise for Gambia, an African Islamic country, which had submitted a case in the International Court of Justice (ICJ) against Myanmar with the plea that the government of Myanmar was continuously oppressing the Rohingya Muslims and committing the act of genocide against them.

He remarked that due to the persistent efforts of the small African country, the ICJ had acknowledged the legitimacy of Gambia’s plea against Myanmar and given the verdict that the court had the jurisdiction to hear the case on the basis of the accusations made by the plaintiff.

He said the bigger and more influential Muslim countries such as Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Iran, Turkey and Malaysia should come forward and become a party to the case.

The Tanzeem Islami Ameer demanded imposition of sanctions on Myanmar, according to the Geneva Convention and other pertinent international laws.
