Court moved to halt release of drama’s last episode

LAHORE:A civil judge, Naila Ayoub, on Wednesday issued notices to Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) and producer director of famous dram serial ‘Meray Pass Tum Ho’ on an application seeking court directions to halt release of the last episode of the drama.

As per details, a woman, Maham, through her counsel Advocate Majid Ch moved an application before the court contending that women have been portrayed in a derogative manner in the dram serial. She said that women have been continuously insulted in the serial as the drama management showed women as useless and worthless part of society. The petitioner criticised the writer of the drama, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar saying that the writer has shown his mental harshness against the dignity of women in a very disrespectful manner.
