Rain forecast

LAHORE: Weather remained partly cloudy in the City on Tuesday while Met office predicted similar weather conditions with chances of rain during the next 24 hours.

Met officials said a westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist during next 24 hours. They predicted rain (snowfall over mountains) at isolated places in upper hilly areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan. Fog is likely to prevail in plain areas of Punjab and districts of upper Sindh during morning and night hours. Cold and dry weather is expected in other parts of the country.

Rainfall was reported at several cities including Malamjabba, Parachinar, Balakot, Dir, Pattan, Kakul, Saidu Sharif, Kalam, Mirkhani, Drosh, Cherat, Tahktbai, Bannu, Peshawar, Muzaffarabad, Garidupatta, Rawalakot, Kotli, Murree, Attock, Islamabad, Bahawalpur, Kalat, Quetta, Bagrote, Skardu and Gupis. Snowfall was also recorded at Malamjabba, Murree, Bagrote, Parachinar, Kalam, Skardu and Upper Dir.

Lowest minimum temperature was recorded at Skardu where mercury dropped to -17°C while in Lahore it was 8.8°C and maximum 18°C.
