Vegetables, fruits missing from makeshift markets

Wrong price fixation caused shortage and non-availability of majority of vegetables and some fruits in the weekly makeshift markets of the city while the administration of these markets blamed the district coordination office which issued the price list with DCO signatures.
The vendors in the weekly Sunday bazaars refused to sell vegetables, including lady finger, lufa, garlic local, capsicum, cauliflower, and lemon local on price issue while some fruits were also went missing from there on the same issue. The vendors said the price list issued by the market committee duly signed by the DCO office was wrong. They said their buying price was even much higher than the rates issued through the price list. So they refused to sell the number of vegetables in the makeshift markets.
On the other hand, the officials in these makeshift markets said that they could not issue any price list to the vendors in Sunday bazaars themselves. They said the DCO office had issued clear instructions to the makeshift markets to follow the rate list issued by market committee with the signatures of the DCO office. Thus, we are bound to follow the official price list, they said.
However, in order to ensure availability of some items in the makeshift markets, these officials has given a free hand on those items price on which vendors have concern of wrong price fixation. Hence, the vendors overcharged the consumers freely as no price cards were issued for these vegetables to the vendors.
The price of potato new was fixed at Rs25 to 30 per kg, potato sugar-free at Rs12 to 14 per kg, potato stored at Rs7 to 9 per kg, while potato stored was sold at Rs30 per kg.
The price of onion was up by Re one per kg, fixed at Rs34 to 39 per kg. The rates of tomato were reduced by Rs8 per kg, reached Rs35 to 40 per kg. The price of garlic local was gained by Rs5 per kg, reached Rs120 to 130 per kg, sold ay Rs160 per kg, garlic Chinese increased by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs135

to 145 per kg, sold at Rs150 per kg.
Ginger China was fixed at Rs150 to 160 per kg, Singapore Rs104 to 110 per kg, ginger India was fixed at Rs95 to 100 per kg, while Indian was sold at Rs160 to 180 per kg.
The price of brinjal was reduced by Rs3 per kg, fixed at Rs15 to 14 per kg.
Cucumber local price was gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs50 to 60 per kg, Cucumber Farm at Rs27 to 30 per kg, while sold at Rs60 to 80 per kg.
Bitter gourd was stable at Rs45 to 55 per kg, sold at Rs60 per kg.
The price of spinach was gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs30 to 38 per kg, sold at Rs40 per kg. Zucchini local was gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs50 to 55 per kg, rotten was sold at Rs60 per kg. The price of lemon local was enhanced by Rs25 per kg, fixed at Rs125 to 140 per kg, lemon Chinese was fixed at Rs75 to 80 per kg, while it sold at Rs140 per kg, and local at Rs160 per kg. Pumpkin price was stable at Rs15 to 20 per kg, sold at Rs20 per kg while pumpkin long sold at Rs40 per kg. The price of lufa was also unchanged at Rs25 to 30 per kg, sold at Rs40 per kg. The price of cabbage was gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs35 to 40, sold at Rs50 per kg, and cauliflower fixed at Rs40 to 46 per kg, sold at Rs70 per kg. The price of green chilli local was fixed at Rs40 to 45 per kg, and green chilli farm at Rs30 to 35 per kg, both sold at Rs60 per kg.
Capsicum price was gained by Rs28 per kg, fixed at Rs100 to 110 per kg, but not sold while outside was sold at Rs140 to 160 per kg. Arum price was gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs45 to 50 per kg, sold at Rs60 per kg. Ladyfinger was fixed at Rs36 per kg, sold at Rs50 per kg. The price of different variety of apples was fixed at Rs45 to 95 per kg, while sold at Rs80 to 100 per kg. The price of plump was gained by Rs4 per kg, fixed at Rs180 to 190 per kg, sold at Rs240 per kg.
The rates of Banana A quality was fixed at Rs60 to 65 per dozen, B-quality at Rs45 to 50 per dozen, sold at Rs60 per dozen. Pomegranate local price was fixed at Rs110 to 120 per kg, Kandhari at Rs120 to 130 per kg, both were not sold there. Guava rate was fixed at Rs35 to 40 per kg, sold at Rs50 to 60 per kg. Sweet potato was gained by Rs5 per kg, fixed at Rs30 to 35 per kg, sold at Rs50 to 60 per kg. Peer price was fixed at Rs45 to 50 per kg, sold at Rs80 per kg. Grapes gola Black was fixed at Rs106 to 112 per kg, Grapes Sunderkhani at Rs170 to 197 per kg, Grapes Gola at Rs80 to 90 per kg and sold at Rs200 per kg.
