Another old man found dead: A 60-year-old unidentified man was found dead in the Racecourse police limits on Tuesday.
Police have removed the dead body to morgue for autopsy.
Police official said the victim was an old man and lived in the streets of Basti Saidan Shah. On the day of incident, he fell unconscious. A passerby informed the police. They reached the incident place and shifted the victim to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him as brought dead.
Police said the victim looked very weak and might have died due to illness. However, autopsy will help ascertain the cause of death.

Fire burns valuables at bank: A fire erupted at the IT room of a bank, Misri Shah branch, due to short circuit and reduced valuables to ashes on Tuesday. No loss of life or injury was reported . Fire tenders of the Rescue 1122 responded to the emergency and controlled the fire. Local police also reached the scene to maintain law and order.
A police official said the fire broke-out due to sparking in the IT room of the bank which engulfed the whole room. The staff and visitors rushed to the safe place outside the building. They made calls to police and Rescue 1122 who extinguished the fire after hectic efforts.
Meanwhile, another fire broke out at a garments shop and reduced the cloths worth lakhs of rupees to ashes in the Ichhra police limits. Rescue teams reached the incident place on information and controlled the fire. The fire erupted at the shop due to short-circuit at Sultan Market, Main Bazaar Ichhra. A passerby informed the Rescue 1122. They reached the incident place and controlled the fire.
No loss of life or injury was reported.
Crossfire injures girl: Crossfire between the two rival groups left an eight-year-old girl injured in the Batapur police limits on Tuesday. The injured girl was identified as Tanzeela Fatima. She was admitted to the Lahore General Hospital. Police reached the scene and collected evidences while th accused managed to flee the scene. Malik Poda and Niamat Groups had started indiscriminate fires. The victim girl was passing by the incident place when she received a stray bullet. As a result, she received bullet-injury on her leg. She was shifted to the Lahore General Hospital. Police recorded the statements of eye-witnesses. Police have yet to register the FIR.
Two carjackers held: The National Highways and Motorway Police N-5 Central have foiled an attempt of vehicle's theft and arrested two carjackers on the National Highways near Sunder, Lahore. The Motorway Police, Central Zone, got an information from the Lahore Control that a vehicle No LES-9259 was stolen in the area of Hanjerwal Police Station. The DSP, Beat 14 Maraka, CPO Malik Ghulam Rasool, SPO Faraz Ahmad and Patrolling Officers Nadim Ahmed observed the vehicle near Sunder on national highways. The Patrolling officers tried to stop the vehicle but the driver ignored the stop sign and tried to escape. On seeing the chase by the NH&MP officers, the driver halted on the highway and ran away to the nearby field. However, patrolling officer successfully managed to arrest the two criminals namely Azher r/o Lahore and Tariq r/o Okara . The arrested criminals with the recovered vehicle were handed over to the local police for further investigation.
