LAHORE:Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Ltd (SNGPL) in collaboration with University of Engineering & Technology Lahore and Rescue 1122 organised an awareness walk at Hussain Chowk here to raise awareness about conservation of natural gas.
The walk was led SNGPL Managing Director Amer Tufail and Vice-Chancellor, University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Dr Mansoor Sarwar. Sohail Gulzar, DMD (Operations); Syed Jawad Naseem, SGM; Chaudhry Ijaz, SGM; Farrukh Majeed Bala, General Manager (HSE), Rescue 1122 officials and students from UET also participated in the walk.
Speaking on the occasion, SNGPL MD Amer Tufail, requested the consumers to use natural gas only when needed. He emphasised on regular maintenance to avoid high gas bills. He said that geyser should be kept on pilot and turned to warm only half an hour before the use. He said the company was taking strict action against use of compressors and connection of consumers found to be using compressor would be disconnected. He requested media to play its role in creating awareness about efficient use of natural gas.
