Two persons were ‘electrocuted’ after receiving electric shocks from a live wire in the Haier police limits on Friday.
Police have removed the bodies to morgue for autopsy and started probing the incident keeping in view different aspects. The victims have been identified as Azhar Mahmood, 45, a resident of Askari-10, and his 49-year old servant Bagh Ali. SHO Haier told this correspondent that Azhar Mahmood had a piece of land given by Pakistan Army to his father in Haier. On the day of incident, he reached his land on a bike along with his servant. As they reached near the tube-well, a hanging live wire touched Azhar and Bagh Ali. As a result, both received severe electric shocks and died on the spot. Police removed bodies to morgue for autopsy. Police also recorded statements of eyewitnesses. SHO said that apparently the victims had died due to electric shocks, but they would investigate it keeping in view all the aspects including murder. Autopsy will also help ascertaining the cause of death, he maintained.
student found murdered: A student of engineering, who recently qualified from University of Lahore Raiwind Campus, was found murdered on Friday, two days after he went missing. Police have removed the body to morgue for autopsy and started investigations. The victim has been identified as Umar, 27, a resident of Taxila Cantt. Investigation Officer Altaf said the victim had visited the university on August 12 to collect his degree. After collecting degree, he departed for bus stop at Thokhar Niaz Beg, but never reached home. The family of the victim got perturbed and informed police. Police started tracing the victim. The IO said that last location at his cell phone was Thokar Niaz Beg. On Friday, police reached the location and found him dead in the drain. His body was decomposed. Police said it would be too early to say whether it was a suicide or murder. Autopsy will help ascertain the cause of death.

35-year-old worker was killed allegedly by his employer in the Ghalib Market Police limits. Police removed the body to morgue for autopsy and registered an FIR against accused Abdullah. The deceased was identified as Rizwan, a resident of Shalimar Link Road. He worked at a watch-shop on M M Alam Road. On the day of incident, the accused exchanged some harsh words with the victim. He got furious, whipped out his weapon and shot at him. The victim received injuries. He was shifted to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him as brought dead.
Police also reached the incident place and removed the body to morgue for autopsy. They collected forensic evidences from the crime scene and registered the statements of eyewitnesses. Police were searching for the accused.
Fruit seller dies: A 42-year-old man died under mysterious circumstances in Ravi Road police limits on Friday. Police removed the body to morgue for autopsy. The deceased was identified as Karam Din. He lived in a rented house near Old Ravi Bridge and worked as fruit-seller. He is survived by six children including four daughters. According to details, the victim was going to Sabzi Mandi to buy vegetables and fruits on his cart. Suddenly, he became unconscious and fell down in the way. He was shifted to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him as brought. Police reached the incident place and removed the body to morgue for autopsy. They collected forensic evidences from the crime scene and registered the statements of eyewitnesses. Police were further investigating the matter.
