DIRECTOR General Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) Maj Gen Umar Farooq Burki visited Chenab Rangers and met with vanguards to boost their morale for the protection of borders.
He appreciated their role for remaining firm against the unprovoked firing and coward acts of Indian forces. Later, he visited CMH Sialkot and inquired after the injured victims. He also expressed deep sense of sorrow with the families over the martyrdom of their loved ones.
Cash prize: DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf awarded Rs 10,000 in cash and a CC-II certificate to Head Constable Muhammad Babar who had fought against terrorists in Manawan Police Training School despite receiving bullet injuries.
He said the Lahore Police were proud of such Ghazis and martyrs who challenged terrorists by putting their lives on stake. He expressed these views while addressing the Darbar of Elite Police Force at the office of SP Mujahid in Qurban Lines. DIG promised to address the issues of the force including clean drinking water, residence, bullet proof jackets, vehicles and uniforms on priority basis. He also told them that Yadgar-e-Shuhada for 265 martyrs, a hospital containing 40 beds and police public school would be completed soon for the families of martyrs. SP Karar Hussain said that training sessions had been organised for the force keeping in view the modern challenges.
Notices: CTO Tayyab Hafeez Cheema issued show-cause notices to five patrolling officers during the inspection of vehicles and awarded a commendatory certificate to another officer for maintaining the vehicle in a proper condition. The show-cause notices have been served on traffic wardens Amir, Asim, Zaheer, Shahbaz and Moeez while commendatory certificate was given to Sajid. He directed the patrolling officers to maintain their vehicles properly on regular basis for smooth operation during the duty hours. Meanwhile, CTO directed the divisional SPs and DSPs to ensure action against vehicles using tinted glasses without any discrimination. He also appealed to the citizens to abide by traffic rules and remove tinted glasses themselves.
ACCIDENTS: At least 619 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours; in which three lives were lost during these traffic accidents in different districts of Punjab and 530 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district.
