Health professional allowance for pharmacists approved

LAHORE: The Punjab government has approved the the grant of “health professional allowance” across the board.

The Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department issued the notification on Tuesday after approval by the governor. The notification says the health professional allowance will be granted at Rs 15,000 per month for pharmacists working in BS-17 and at Rs 10,000 per month for pharmacists working in BS-18, BS-19 and BS-20 working under the administrative control of the Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department and Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department subject to the condition that pharmacists working in all Drug Testing Laboratories (DTLs) in Punjab will not be entitled for grant of health professional allowance as they are already receive the technical allowance.

Stage play: The Punjab AIDS Control Program and a private university collaborated to organize a stage play and poster competition on Wednesday.

The two organizations also signed an MoU for collaborations for research and communication, especially in material and theme development for high-risk groups. Program Director Punjab AIDS Control Program Dr. Asim Altaf said that quackery had emerged as a leading reason for HIV transmission in the last few years. He said the prime focus of the program was on changing the perceptions and create awareness about controlling the spread of the disease.

BISE: The Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education (BISE) has contacted the government departments concerned to investigate and seek legal action against accused involved in circulating fake question paper of mathematics, reads a press release issued here on Tuesday.
