LAHORE
The Lahore High Court Thursday dismissed a petition challenging alleged discrepancies in the result announced for 696 posts of civil judges in Punjab. A Punjab Bar Council member, Farhad Ali Shah, filed the petition saying the result available on the website of the High Court carried many discrepancies as numbers of successful candidates were listed as unsuccessful in the result. He said there was a great anxiety among the candidates about their future as the result issued for the posts of civil judges was unclear and defective. The petitioner-lawyer requested the court to order an inquiry into the matter and hold the examinations afresh. Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah took up the petition as “objection case” as registrar office had objected to its maintainability. The judge sustained the objection and dismissed the petition. The LHC on Wednesday issued the result on its website and the candidates could check their result by entering their National Identity Card numbers.
