PMA for expanding health card scheme

LAHORE : Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) has vowed to ensure health services to allied hospitals of private medical colleges according to PMDC regulations.

This was observed by PMA office-bearers in a meeting at PMA House which was chaired by President PMA Prof Ashraf Nizami and attended by Dr Malik Shahid Shaukat, Dr Izhar Ahmad, Dr Tanveer Anwar, Dr Ajmal Naqvi, Dr Sikandar Hayyat Gondal, Dr Iram Shahzadi, Dr Wajid Ali, Dr Aleem Nawaz, Dr Bushra Haq, and Dr Ahmad Naeem Akhtar.

The house demanded Health Minister Prof Yasmeen Rashid that the proposed health card scheme of province shall be extended to allied hospitals of private medical colleges.

World buffalo congress begins today: The International Buffalo Congress (IBC) 2019 arranged by the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore and Livestock and Dairy Development Department Punjab will start on Monday (today).

Chief Minister Sardar Usman Ahmed Khan Buzdar has consented to preside over the inaugural ceremony of the congress. He will also inaugurate the Sino-Pak Joint Research Centre for Buffalo on the occasion.

More than 500 delegates from Pakistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Bulgaria, Canada, China, India, Iran, Iraq, Italy, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkey, UAE and the United States of America are attending the congress. The two-day congress is spread over one plenary and 14 technical sessions and a farmer-industry forum, 12 business meetings, seven pre-congress workshops, 100 each poster and oral presentations on 10 different aspects of buffalo.

The congress will follow the national livestock show/buffalo fair at Buffalo Research Institute Pattoki.
