Saudi investment to help alleviate poverty: CM

LAHORE : Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said the visit of the Saudi crown prince is a matter of extreme happiness and gratitude for the whole Pakistani nation.

“We welcome Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman and other Saudi brethren in Pakistan. The government and the people of Punjab like other Pakistanis cordially welcome the prince,” said Usman Buzdar.

In a statement, the chief minister said investment in the country would increase due to bilateral agreements between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in various fields. Investment and trade agreement between the two countries will strengthen the national economy, he added.

He said the wide-ranging Saudi investment would help eliminate poverty. He said the bilateral ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia would improve and strengthen due to the visit of the Saudi crown prince to Pakistan. The CM said the visit of Saudi Prince Mohammed Bin Salman will ensure development with regard to resolution of the problems being faced by the Muslim Ummah. The visit will determine new avenues of development and progress in Pakistan, he said, adding Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had done historic contribution to the economic development of Saudi Arabia.

The love of the Khadim al-Haramayn al-Sharifayn for Pakistan and the people of Pakistan has become an example and that the Muslims in Pakistan hold him in great esteem for their services to the holy places, the CM said.

He said the people of Pakistan have profound love for the Royal Family of Saudi Arabia. “We have old ties with Saudi Arabia and the relationships are improving constantly,” he added.

The strong and friendly ties between the two countries are based on old cultural and economic coordination. There exists coordination and harmony in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in all fields, the CM said. He said Saudi Arabia had always helped Pakistan and other Islamic countries during difficult circumstances. Saudi Arabia is making progress in all fields under wise and courageous leadership of the Khadim al-Haramayn al-Sharifayn, the CM said.

Meanwhile Usman Buzdar has expressed grief over the death of Justice (r) Aftab Farrukh. In his condolence message, he expressed sympathies with the bereaved family.
