In the month of April, about 13,015 transport vehicles were checked for overcharging, while 1,298 vehicles fined and Rs 663,000 deposited into the kitty of the Punjab government.
About 26 transport vehicles were impounded for overcharging from various places of the city including Bhatti Chowk, Muslim Town, Rizwaz Garden, Sabzazar, Nawab Town, Chowki Raja Market, and other places. This was stated by CEO LTC Khawaja Haider Latif while chairing a meeting to review the overcharging of transport fares in the city on Tuesday.
He said the enforcement department would sternly ensure that the staff of the enforcement department proceeded against those found in overcharging.
