The SECP–approved five-day training programme enhances the skill set of directors, orients them on corporate governance, and certifies them to serve as future directors of public sector companies. The need to build the capacity of dynamic women in senior management positions and facilitate their inclusion in the decision-making process is more important now than ever before, due to SECP’s revised Code of Corporate Governance under the Companies Act 2017, which mandates public sector companies to appoint at least one certified woman director on their boards. All the companies have been directed by SECP to ensure that all directors are certified by the year 2020, while 50 percent directors have been mandated to be certified by July 2018.

PCSW’s certified directors from FY 2017-18 include Dr Shehla Javed Akram, Dr Momina Randhawa, Ms Falahat Imran, Ms Zara Fateh Qizilbash, Ms Ume Laila Azhar, and Dr Noreen Zafar.

OLMT: Justice (Retd) Sayed Zahid Hussain, Chairman Special Committee of Experts, constituted by the Supreme Court, paid a visit to GPO and Supreme Court Registry of Orange Line Metro Train Project (OLMT).
