THE 62nd annual three-day celebrations of Jamia Naeemia will start today (Friday) that include books exhibition, Mufti Azam seminar in memory of founder of Jamia Naeemia and 6th Urs of Dr Sarfraz Naeemi, and Dastar Bandi (convocation) of graduates where noted religious and political figures of the country would address.
This was stated by Jamia Naeemia Principal Raghib Naeemi while addressing a press conference along with Mufti Intikhab Noori, Mufti Imran Hanfi, Mufti Haseeb Qadri, Mufti Qaiser Shahzad and Ziaul Haq Naqshbandi on Thursday.
He said Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif would be the chief guest at Mufti Azam seminar tomorrow (Saturday).
Other programmes in the celebrations would be participated by the political and religious elite, scholars and students of Jamia Naeemia. Replying to questions, Dr Raghib Naeemi demanded the government to withdraw all punitive measures and policies against seminaries and mosques.
He condemned the bomb attacks on two churches in Lahore and said the lynching of two innocent Muslims by Christians after the blasts was gruesome. He demanded that all culprits should be identified from the video clips and given exemplary punishment to stop such acts in future.
