SADAR Division Police busted a four-member Imran alias Mani Gang including their ringleader involved in multiple cases of kidnapping for ransom and recovered cash Rs. 2700,000, vehicles and weapons from their possession.
The accused were identified as Imran, Fahad Ali, Usman Liaquet and Muhammad Waqas.
SP Saddar Zahid Nawaz Marwat disclosed this at a press conference at his office on Tuesday.
He told the media that Muhammad Shafiq, father of victim Rauf Ahmad, lodged a complaint against the kidnapping for ransom of his son to the Mustafa Town police. SP Sadar appointed DSP Sabzazar Circle Imran Karamat and Incharge Investigation Hanjarwal Inspector Muhammad Aslam to investigate the case. Both officers used their professional skills and technology and arrested the accused.
He said the solved case had a background. Three more cases were traced against the accused. He told the media that accused had kidnapped victim Rauf in 2011 and demanded ransom of Rs. three million.
In 2013, they arrested Muhammad Shafiq, father of the victim, and demanded Rs. two million, he added. In February 2014, the accused again targeted the family, kidnapped victim Rauf and demanded ransom of of Rs. 2.5 million.
He said victim Muhammad Shafiq worked as a contractor in C&W Department. Accused Imran worked as a driver in the same department. He would gather information about the activities of the victims and kidnapped them for ransom.
The SP said they worked on two angles considering the professional life of the victims and their socio-economic life. They started investigation from their office and solved the case with a lot of hard-work and professional skills.

criminals held: CIA Police claimed to have arrested six members of Maasi Dacoit Gang involved in homicide and robbery bids and recovered stolen cash and illegal weapons from their possession on Tuesday.
The arrested accused have been identified as Muhammad Maskeen alias Maasi, gang ringleader, and his accomplices Daud Ali, Wasif Ali, Muhammad Shaan alias Kala, Muhammad Mansha, and Mujahid Hussain.
A special police team was constituted on the orders of SP CIA Muhammad Umer Virk. The informer told the police party about the hideouts of criminals. The police team raided their hideout and arrested the accused.
Police also recovered two motorcycles, mobile phones, a dagger, and other illegal weapons. It is worth mentioning here that the arrested persons have a criminal record. In 2012 they were accused of stabbing a man named Gulzar to death. They also injured one of their peer-brother Azeem Butt in Satukatla over a heredatory issue.
The arrested members have previously spent a considerable time in jail, having been involved in 32 cases in Harbanspura, Township, Green Town, Shalimar, Satukatla, Baghbanpura, and other places. SSP Investigations Rana Ayaz Saleem announced commendatory certificates for the special police team.

Additional Commissioner Coordination Gujranwala Shahzad Saeed has been transferred and posted as Director Anti Corruption Establishment Gujranwala Region, and Assistant Commissioner Fort Abbas Sh. Mohammed Tahir has been made OSD. DDO (HRM) Pakpattan Tahir Ikram has been transferred and his services have been placed at the disposal of the Health Department for further posting.
