THE CIA Police have recovered a four-and-a-half-year-old son of a prominent businessman of Lahore who was kidnapped for ransom of Rs 30 million and arrested three criminals involved in the case. Child Muhammad Ibrahim was a student of a private educational institution. The CCPO Lahore, Capt. (r) Muhammad Amin Wains, took notice of the case registered at the Police Station Gulberg and gave a target to the Incharge Kidnapping for Ransom Cell of the CIA for the arrest of kidnappers and recovery of victim child.
The police team received the information from the family of the child and the details of the calls received for ransom. The investigation revealed that kidnappers had taken the child to Bannu. The police team conducted a raid in Bannu and arrested Usman, driver of the businessman Muzamal Ahmed. Police also recovered the child. The other accused however managed to escape. Accused Usman during the interrogation disclosed that he and Shahbaz had been working at the house of Muzammal Ahmed as a driver for a long time and knew about his business position. He said they planned to kidnap the child and Shahbaz’s father Muhammad Rafiq and his friend Imran Khan of Bannu also helped them in the crime. The child was taken to Imran Khan’s house in Bannu. In the light of the information received from Usman, the police team again visited Bannu and gathered information with the help of the local police and notables of the area which revealed that accused Imran Khan was in contact with Rafique of Faisalabad and interrogation of Rafique led to the arrest of Imran Khan and Shahabaz.
