Security put on high alert

LAHORE: In the wake of Quetta bomb blast, security has been put on high alert across the Punjab.

Punjab IGP directed all RPOs, DPOs and CCPO Lahore to beef up security at worship places, especially worship places of minorities. He directed them to visit their fields and supervise security arrangements of sensitive localities and religious places, besides launching combing and intelligence based operations in these sensitive localities.

He directed the senior police officers to increase patrolling and make more efficient the interprovincial and inter-districts checkpoints and to make the process of checking more strict. Security in the provincial metropolis was put on high alert to thwart any untoward incident. Additional SPs reviewed security arrangements, visited churches and sensitive buildings in their respective areas, following the directions of Lahore CCPO. The CCPO appealed to the citizens to extend their full co-operation to police and immediately inform “Rescue 15 or 8330’ about any suspicious activity around them. 45 ARRESTED: Police registered 35 cases and arrested 45 people on wheelie and kite-flying charges. Police recovered 110 kites and 10 spools of kite strings.
