Quality healthcare services to people ensured

LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Primary & Secondary Healthcare Khawaja Imran Nazir has said the Punjab government is taking every step to provide quality healthcare services to the people free-of-cost and revolutionary steps have been taken in this regard. He said health department would not lay off its employees and contractual dengue workers would be regularised very soon.

Addressing a Health and Wellness seminar organised by the Primary & Secondary Health Department in connection with the Punjab Health Conventions at a hotel on Wednesday, Kh Imran Nazir said that mechanism is being evolved to provide pay scales and promotion formula for lady health workers. He said all the DHQ hospitals are being provided with CT Scan machines and as a result of successful centralised induction policy for PG trainee doctors adopted by the specialised healthcare department. He said 95 percent Basic Health Units have been filled by the doctors. Minister for specialised healthcare Kh Salman Rafique said that Punjab has best dengue control system in the region and that time is not far away when the health system of Punjab would become according to the international standards. He said revolutionary changes and development in health sector at the level of district and tehsils headquarters is the unprecedented in the history of Pakistan. Ali Jan Khan said reforms have been brought revolutionary results in health sector. He said blood screening and vaccination is being carried out of the high risk groups. He said hepatitis and AIDS control programme is successful.
