A judicial magistrate Imran Gondal on Friday sent an official and his wife on 14-day judicial remand on the allegations of torturing a 10-year-old house maid in the Johar Town area.
As the hearing started on Friday, a prosecutor told the judge that Irfan, who is grade-18 official at Audit Department and his wife, tortured a 10-year-old maid Umme Rubab, leaving her severely injured. He requested the court to grant physical remand of the accused. However, the judge sent them on judicial remand.
On Thursday, Child Welfare and Protection Bureau (CWPB) recovered the said girl, allegedly a victim of torture and illegal detention, during a raid at a house in Johar Town and police took the owner in custody. Umme Rubab of Sargodha was hired by the family as domestic servant.
