26 development schemes approved

LAHORE
The Punjab government has approved 26 development schemes of various development sectors at an estimated cost of Rs 39651.675 million.
The schemes were approved by the Provincial Development Working Party in the 36th meeting of Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) of current fiscal year 2014-15 chaired by the Punjab Chairman P&D Board Irfan Elahi.
Provincial Secretary P&D Waseem Ajmal Ch, members of the Planning and Development Board, Provincial Secretary concerned and other senior representatives of the relevant Provincial Departments attended the meeting.
According to a spokesman for P&DD, the approved development schemes included: Widening and Improvement of road from Gujranwala-Hafizabad road Bheri More to Gujranwala Alipur Chattah road via Chandreka & Bheri Shah Rehman km No.0/0 22.56 (length 22.56 km) in District Gujranwala at a cost of Rs 311.937 million, Feasibility-Master Planning for Establishment of Lahore Knowledge Park at Dera Rakh Chahl, Lahore (PC-II) at a cost of Rs 56.072 million, Construction of Multan Metro Project Corridor-I: BZU to Kumharan Chowk passing through the Major Intersections of Northern Bypass, Chungi No 6, Chungi No 9, Fish Market, Daulat Gate, Chungi No 14, BCG Chowk and Vehari Chowk, approximate length-18.5 km (Package 1: Bahauddin Zakaria University to Chungi No.6, length=5.625 km) (Revised) at a cost of Rs 6145.44 million, Construction of Multan Metro Project Corridor-I: BZU to Kumharan Chowk passing through the Major Intersections of Northern Bypass, Chungi No 6, Chungi No.9, Fish Market, Daulat Gate, Chungi No.14, BCG Chowk and Vehari Chowk, approximate length=18.5 km (Package 2: Chungi No.6 to Fish Market, length=3.475 km) (Revised) at a cost of Rs. 4916.69 million, Construction of Multan Metro Project Corridor-I: BZU to Kumharan Chowk passing through the Major Intersections of Northern Bypass, Chungi No.6, Chungi No.9, Fish Market, Daulat Gate, Chungi No.14, BCG Chowk and Vehari Chowk,
