Old enmity claims life

LAHORE: A 30-year-old man was killed while three others received injuries over an old enmity in the Burki police limits on Monday.
Police have removed the body to morgue for autopsy. The injured persons were shifted to hospital while accused persons are still at large. The victim has been identified as Ilyas while the injured persons identified as Miraj Din, Maqsood and Anwar. Police said the accused identified as Shahzad, son of a retired sensitive agency official named Yousaf, barged into the house of the victim along with his 10 accomplices and opened firing. As a result, the victim died on the spot while three others sustained bullet injuries. Police after being informed reached the scene and collected forensic evidences. The accused fled the scene unhindered. Further investigations are underway. IG Punjab has also taken notice of the incident and ordered the CCPO Lahore to arrest the accused without delay.
EXTENDED: The Punjab government has extended the contract of MD Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA) Ali Amir Malik for two years. DIG Ali Amir Malik was deputed as Project Director IC3 in 2013 and then was assigned the duties of MD of the authority.
