A terrorist who managed to escape from Punjab Housing Society after wounding officials of a law enforcement agency in Factory Area three days back has been identified as Azeem Abu Fauji.
Head money of Rs 1 million has been fixed for Azeem Abu Fauji. He had managed to escape leaving his four accomplices on the spot, of whom, one Ali Traiq was killed and three others, including a girl, Noreen Leghari, were arrested
Police praised: IGP appreciated all RPOs and DPOs for providing foolproof security on the eve of Easter across the Punjab on Sunday.
He said it was the prime responsibility of the Punjab police to provide security to all sects and communities on all events including religious ceremonies. He hoped that the officers and officials of the Punjab police would continue performing their duty with zeal and fervour.
Meanwhile, the DIG Operations appreciated the officers and officials providing foolproof security on the occasion of Easter in the City on Sunday.
At least 5,000 officers and jawans performed security duty in the provincials metropolis on Easter. People were monitored and checked at the entry and exit points of the City.
All the divisional SPs checked the security arrangements in their respective jurisdiction and distributed gifts among the Christian community members. Police teams also conducted snap checking in various parts of the City.
