Commandant Officer Ring Road Police Friday suspended four patrolling officers for sleeping and using mobilephones during duty and issued them show-cause notices.
Reportedly, patrolling officers Faiz, Danish and Mushtaq were sleeping in a police van during duty, while Nasir was caught using his cellphone.
transferred: Inspector General of Police Punjab, Mushtaq Ahmad Sukhera Friday issued transfer/posting orders of two Police officers.
According to details, Mehmood-ul-Hassan, awaiting posting, has been transferred and posted as SP, Specialized Protection Unit (SPU) Lahore and Imran Abbas, DSP/SDPO Muslim Town, Lahore, has been transferred and posted as DSP Organized Crime, Gujranwala, against existing vacancies, with immediate effect.
fire: Valuables worth hundreds of thousands rupees were turned into ashes in two different incidents of fire on Friday.
A fire erupted in a double-storey bank near Liberty market roundabout, Gulberg, due to UPS batteries short circuit. The fire engulfed the building and burnt to ashes furniture and other valuables.
Rescue 1122 extinguished the fire.
In the other incident, a fire erupted in a house due to also a short circuit in Garhi Shahu and gutted furniture and other valuables.
Rescue team controlled the fire. No loss of life was reported in both the incidents.
New bins for Walled City: The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has introduced new small sized waste-bins to be used dedicatedly by each household initially on trial bases in the locality of the walled city.
The officials said initially a small number of bins had been installed to check their feasibility and usability by citizens. They said a cleanliness awareness campaign was also carried out in the locality to make the citizens aware and sensitise them which comprised of a walk, setting up of camps for registration and addressing of complaints, door to door public briefing and leafleting.

Muslim League-N leader Waseem Qadir and participated by LWMC’s Head of Communication Department Jamil Khawar and Senior Manager Operations Suhail Anwar Malik.
Officials of albayrak, Political Coordinators, member civil society and students also took part in the campaign and played their active role for highlighting the significance of the issue.
