Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) Chairman Siddiq-ul-Farooq has said the Board has earned a lot recently through new construction and auction of its property.
Talking to media here at his residence on Friday after chairing 307th Board meeting, he said that foundation stone of Baba Guru Nanak International University and Gandhara University would be laid soon and teachers and staff of international standard would be hired to run these institutes.
The ETPB chairman said appointments of consultants and registrars of these universities were discussed during the meeting. He said all subjects, including Punjabi and religious education would be taught at these institutes. He said that with the approval of the federal government changes in urban and agriculture schemes had been made.
Responding to a question, he said PTI chairman Imran Khan had bit the dust of his negative propaganda in Panama case. To another question, he claimed that corruption of his predecessor Asif Hashmi had been proved as Board had handed all the relevant documents over to NAB and now it was up to them to proceed further.
Cleanliness: Following the upcoming occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), Albayrak Waste Management Company has started a massive cleanup awareness outside all major city mosques here Friday.
Officials said the first awareness activity was held near Gumbad-i-Khizra mosque on Mall Road in which local representatives and residents took active part. The activity was aimed to create awareness about proper waste management. They said the activity was preceded by special cleanup operation in the area as well as in the surroundings of the mosque.
The officials said a special cleanliness plan for 12 Rabi-ul Awwal was also being executed.
Under this plan, mosques are being washed, graveyards are being cleaned and manually swept and procession routes are being cleaned and limed. Lime and phenyl have been made available in all UCs of Lahore Zone I, they said and concluded that Albayrak is also reaching out to the local representatives for feedback and to ensure clean surroundings in their area on Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).
