LAHORE
Chief Justice of Lahore High Court Syed Mansoor Ali Shah on Monday issued notices on application of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MNA Jahangir Tareen requesting to make four MNAs party in his petition challenging National Assembly Speaker order of sending a reference against him to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
The chief justice sought replies from the Speaker, ECP and MNAs Marryam Orangzeb, Maiza Hameed, Ashiq Shah and Talal Chaudhry until December 1. These MNAs had accused Tareen of getting loans from different banks, which he later had written off.
They alleged that Tareen did not mention this fact during filing his nomination papers. Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq sent a reference against Mr Tareen seeking his disqualification under Article 63 of the Constitution.
