University of Engineering and Technology (UET) organised a seminar “Iqbal Day: Developing Leadership Competence” here on Tuesday.
According to a press release, Muslim Institute Chairman Sahibzada Sultan Ahmad Ali was the chief guest on the occasion. He said poetry of Allama Muhammad Iqbal was entirely based on leadership competence. He said Allama Iqbal’s work must be studied through scientific methods.
UVAS Faculty of Chemical Engineering Dean Prof Dr Nadeem Feroze and Faculty of Natural Science Dean Prof Dr Shahid Rafique and Department of Humanities Chairperson Aalia Saleem Naushahi also spoke.
UVAS: In connection with World Falconry Day, the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) on Tuesday organised a seminar with the theme “Celebrating Restoration of the Peregrine Falcon”.
Dean Faculty of Life Sciences Business Management Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad chaired the inaugural session of the seminar and Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Talat Naseer Pasha chaired the concluding session while Prof Dr Asim Aslam and a large number of students and faculty members were present. Prof Pasha said UVAS would take lead and establish a conservation centre for falcons. He appreciated the effort of Vets Care Club for the organising the event and working actively for the noble cause.
The aim of the event was to celebrate restoration of the peregrine falcon to create awareness among young veterinarian about the falconry and raptors to pay attention to the importance of falconry in our cultural heritage in Pakistan.
Dr Kamran Abid from Hawking Club of Punjab presented history of falcon and described about species.
