Sindh ombudsman elected as IOI president for Asia

Sindh Ombudsman Asad Ashraf Malik has been elected as president of the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI) for the Asia region.

A statement issued on Friday said Malik had been elected as the new president at the 11th International World Ombudsman Conference for a period of four years.

IOI Secretary General Gunther Krauter felicitated the new president and hoped that he would play an effective role in resolving the problems and grievances of Asian countries.

After taking over as president, Malik said he would try to convince the Chinese authorities to become a part of the IOI for the Asia region.
