Qadeer Khan honoured

The Pakistan National Yoga Council awarded Fakhr-e-Millat Award to Pakistan's nuclear scientist Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan during an award ceremony held at DHA. According to a press release issued here on Sunday, the award was given in the annual award ceremony of the Pakistan National Yoga Council, which is the apex yoga body that has started free yoga training for citizens as part of a new initiative named 'Sehat Mand Pakistan.' Former Punjab Governor Lt-Gen (retd) Khalid Maqbool was the guest of honour at the event. Other awards were also announced. PYC Writers Award was announced for columnist Munnoo Bhai, Adab Award for columnist Sughra Sadaf and posthumous Khidmat Award for late Abdus Sattar Edhi. Best Yogi Award was given to Yogi Wajahat for countrywide contribution to a healthy Pakistan. Yasmin Sajjad from Lahore Press Club Housing Scheme received master trainer certificate. TV host and patron-in-chief of PNYC Yogi Riaz Khokhar gave away awards to the distinguished guests. As part of Sehat Mand Pakistan, the PNYC have started free training of teachers and general public in leading parks in Lahore, imparting training of physiotherapy, fitness, meditation and fitness exercises vis-à-vis ancient Asian art of yoga.
