Punjab Chief Secretary Naveed Akram Cheema retired on Thursday.
Cheema served as Punjab chief secretary for one year and two months. He was posted as Punjab CS on October 26, 2013. After the retirement of Naveed Akram Cheema, Additional Chief Secretary Mubashar Raza has been given the additional charge of the office of Punjab chief secretary till further orders. The federal government is yet to notify the new CS, Punjab. Six senior bureaucrats are in the run including Nadeem Hassan Asif and Babar Yaqub to bag the top slot of Punjab. Meanwhile, Zaheer Abbas, Joint Director Project Management Unit Automation of Stamp Papers Board of Revenue, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Secretary Agriculture Department.
