Wildlife, Parks Dept notifies new organisation

Punjab Wildlife and Parks Department has notified a new Community Based Organisation (CBO) Potohar Urial Conservation and Trophy Hunting Organisation here Tuesday.

Notification has been issued after completion of all legal formalities. The number of CBOs has been increased from four to five in the province with this notification. Officials said Punjab Wildlife and Parks Director General Khalid Ayaz Khan told this while talking to media in his office.

He said four CBOs Kallar Kahar Urial Conservation and Trophy Hunting Organisation, Chakwal; Wildlife Lovers Urial Conservation and Trophy Hunting Organisation, Jhelum; Western Jhelum Urial Conservation and Trophy Hunting Organisation, Jhelum and Kala Bagh Urial Conservation and Trophy Hunting Organisation were already working for Urial Conservation and protection and due to their efforts Urial population had increased and it was hoped that with the establishment of new CBO, more better results would be seen in Urial conservation.

Khalid Ayaz said the wildlife department was practicing on the Punjab government policy to bring forward private sector by adopting a comprehensive strategy. He said that with the establishment of a new CBO, a healthy competition would take place which would not only help in increasing Urial population but improve the economic and social conditions of the people of this area.
