CEO of SpaceX calls out Ambani over Starlink delays over his influence over telecommunication sector
SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has launched a public tirade on Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani over Starlink row.
Taking to X, the 54-year-old billionaire accused Ambani of making efforts aimed at preventing Starlink from competing in India’s telecommunications market and sarcastically called him “Prime Minister Ambani.”
Referring Ambani as prime minister, the CEO of Tesla questioned his influence over India’s telecommunication sector.
“Dear Prime Minister Ambani,
Please accept my humble apologies for not realizing that you are the real boss of India.”
Musk continued, “Naturally, you would prefer to maintain your monopolistic exploitation of the great people of India, but would you nonetheless consider allowing Starlink to compete?”
Musk also highlighted the lack of provision of internet access to many areas in the countries. As a result, children and small businesses have been stripped of benefits such as education and expansion of small entities in global markets. And Starlink would change their lives for the better.
He also made a point of how satellite internet could benefit millions of Indians who currently lack reliable connectivity.
‘Starlink has proven to be essential for saving lives during natural disasters throughout the world, when all other communications systems have failed, so you would also be helping save men, women and children throughout India,” the post reads.
Ambani, chairman of Reliance Industries, also controls Reliance Jio, one of India’s largest telecommunications operators.
