Sofía Vergara’s latest Instagram Stories get attention after Joe Manganiello’s 'Bloodlines' claims
Sofía Vergara is pushing back subtly on recent criticism from her ex-husband Joe Manganiello in his new book Bloodlines.
Taking to Instagram, Vergara shared a post about “narcissistic men,” a story first posted by her son, Manolo, 35.
It talked about “dealing with a narcissist” and set that behaviour against how “good men” act. “It doesn’t matter how much you do for a [narcissist],” the post read.
“They will resent you for it and nothing will ever be enough and they’ll always somehow try to paint you as the bad guy.” It ended with clapping, champagne and dancing emojis.
The night before, Vergara reposted a message from Tom Brady about being able to laugh at yourself. It said that skill is a sign of high intelligence and that not having it means “dealing with an idiot.” She added clapping emojis. Neither post names Manganiello.
In Bloodlines, out October 13, Manganiello writes that their marriage was “devoid of any emotionality whatsoever” by the end, per People.
He alleges Vergara, 54, refused to hug him even when he begged, during his serious battle with an autoimmune disease. He also claims she “ridiculed” him over the dog he adopted in 2019 while he was suicidal. He says he wrote the book partly to correct things said about him that were “false.”
That seems to refer to Vergara’s 2024 comments that they split because he wanted children. “I didn’t want to be an old mom,” she said. Manganiello writes that they stopped IVF because of his health, since he did not want to leave her with a child who “wasn’t biologically hers.”
The two married in November 2015 and finalized their divorce in February 2024. Manganiello is now engaged to Caitlin O’Connor, and Vergara is dating jewelry executive Douglas Chabbott.
