Casey Affleck says calling Christopher Nolan for 'Tenet' answer was 'mistake'

Once, Casey Affleck argued with his son on Tenet, a movie by Christopher Nolan.

But instead of searching for the answer online, the actor contacted the source directly: the director.

“I was driving home from school with my son, and we were talking about Tenet, and we were disagreeing about it," he told the Swiss Film Festival.

Hilariously, Affleck recalled, "And I thought, ‘Let’s settle this.’ And we called Chris, which probably was a mistake."

The Manchester by the Sea remembered calling Emma Thomas, Nolan's wife.

However, in hindsight, he said he could have probably looked on the internet for the answer instead of ringing the director.

"I [actually] called Emma [Thomas], his wife, and I said, ‘I just have a quick question,’ and we got him on the phone and asked him something that we probably could have just looked at [on] Reddit and figured out.”

Nolan, however, explained to them the answer, which was so obvious that he felt embarrassed.

“It sounded so obvious. Then we said, ‘Thank you.’ And that was it. And I haven’t called back, and he hasn’t called me,” he recounted.

Meanwhile, Affleck's latest directorial movie Company, has yet to have a theatrical release.
