Prince William gets forced down a painful memory
Prince William just relived through the 1997 death of his mother Diana – will he forgive his uncle and father?
Despite it having been 29 years since his mother passed; her car crash from 1997, chatter surrounding her marriage, divorce and even the untimely nature of her death, eulogy and the funeral service all of it just got dragged back into the spotlight for the worst possible reasons, and one expert thinks it is not going to be easy to forgive.
The reporter that delivered all this is Ms Jasmine Carey, and according to her opinion, this brush with the past has resulted in William facing one of the toughest weeks of his life.
Before sharing her thoughts the expert wrote for the Daily Express, “it was very similar to the situation William faced earlier this year, when he found himself being asked questions about his other uncle Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.” While she did point out the difference between chatter about a memoir vs abuse allegations, in her eyes the “result of them is almost the same.”
As she puts it, “this is because both situations probably caused stress and tension for William, who is going to one day be head of the monarchy.” And she also said, “while William will most likely never forgive his uncle Andrew for the scandals he has been involved in - even though he denies wrongdoing - I also think it is unlikely he will forgive his uncle Earl Spencer for this new book.”
According to Ms Carey, “this is because not only did the book paint William’s royal relatives, like King Charles, in a negative light, but it also contained a lot of content about Princess Diana’s vulnerabilities. Including the way in which she would sometimes contemplate ‘ending it all’.
Near the end she referenced how painful such things must be to hear, especially about one’s mother and noted, “this is likely to have been painful for William to hear, especially as the book has also brought her 1997 car crash death back into the royal spotlight. For William, it’s been another tough week, thanks to another uncle who has brought the Royal Family into the spotlight for all the wrong reasons.”
