Royal journalists weigh in on the idea if Princess Kate could reunite Prince William and Prince Harry
Kate Middleton likely won't play a major role in mending the relationship between her husband, Prince William, and his brother, Prince Harry. The claim came from a royal journalist Omid Scobie.
Speaking in ABC News Studios' documentary Harry & Meghan: The Return of the Prince, Scobie addressed longrunning speculation that Princess Kate could act as a peacemaker between the brothers.
"There's always this talk of Kate potentially being the peacekeeper, the one that could bring the two brothers together," Scobie said. "If I've learned anything over the years from covering them, it's that Kate has very little to do with that relationship between the brothers."
Scobie also shared his belief that the relationship between Prince Harry and King Charles has improved in recent times.
Elsewhere in the documentary, another senior royals journalist, Erin Hill, said palace insiders have described Prince William and Princess Kate's approach to Prince Harry and Meghan's return to the UK as deliberately low-key.“Keep calm, carry on, do the job,” she noted the “very old-school royal approach” decided upon "behind the scenes."
Royal author Russell Myers echoed that sentiment, noting that both King Charles and Prince William remain firmly aligned in their stance that Prince Harry and Meghan no longer represent the royal family in an official capacity.
“So right now Harry and Meghan, they’re not a priority for them, and they’re very much looking to the future,” Hill said, per the Daily Mail.
The latest talks around the royal family dynamic comes amid ongoing scrutiny of Prince Harry and Meghan's return to the UK.
