Princess Diana’s brother Earl Spencer has issued an 'apology' to Piers Morgan after the journalist threatened him of taking legal action against him and his publishers over 'demonstrable lies'.
This has been claimed by royal expert Cameron Walker in his tweet.
Sharing a report of the GB News, royal expert said, “BREAKING: Earl Spencer has apologised to piersmorgan for incorrectly naming him as Editor of the Daily Mirror when highly intrusive photos of Princess Diana were published in 1993.”
In the report, the outlet claims that a spokesperson for Earl Spencer confirmed the apology in a statement, while maintaining that the Earl's description of his phone call with Morgan ahead of Diana's funeral remained truthful.
The representative said, "Mr Morgan was surly and annoyed when Earl Spencer called personally to tell him that he was not welcome at his sister's funeral.”
The statement further says that Spencer's book had recorded his own assumption that Morgan's irritable reaction stemmed from guilt over the gym photographs, believing him to have been editor when they were published.
Earlier, Morgan had tweeted, “BREAKING: I am taking legal action against Earl Spencer and his publishers over demonstrable lies he has written about me in his new book, which call into question his credibility as a supposed ‘historian’.”
