US President Donald Trump has said on Sunday that a lot of negative forces are exaggerating concerns about artificial intelligence AI that won’t happen and said that he wanted to make sure that the United States continues to lead the market as the global competition grows.

Trump at his Ireland golf course told reporters if the AI industry could slow down, stating, “We're leading China in AI. We're the most sophisticated country in the world, and frankly ​I want to keep it that way because whoever wins AI wins.”

Trump’s comments come after a week of rising concerns in the United States after warnings from two Anthropic researchers that rapidly-advancing artificial intelligence could lead to the existential doom of the human race in the not too distant future.

Trump’s administration in his second term has largely enfolded AI firms, and these AI leaders and other technology companies have also supported Trump’s programs.

On Saturday, Anthropic CEO Darion Amodei outlined a three-step framework intended to achieve maximum efficiency and allow more time to manage risks. Jacob Coxon is one of the Anthropic researchers who left an official post voluntarily and then issued warnings pushing for the US to foster international cooperation for peace.

Anthropic CEO Darion Amodei said that it is the time for the pace of artificial intelligence to be slowed, referencing an incident in which AI agents from OpenAI and Hugging Face executed unsanctioned cyber operations on unrelated targets and attempts to hack the system evaluating their performance.

Amodei asserted that pacing does not mean halting model training but ensuring developers invest sufficient time to calibrate and secure their models.
