Hundreds of people agreed with Piers Morgan when the journalist criticized female fans
Veteran journalist Piers Morgan objected to women fans of Carlos Alcaraz filming him as the tennis player took off his shirt during a match recently.
"Now imagine male spectators reacting like that to a female player doing the same," wrote Morgan while resharing a clip that was originally posted with the caption, "The reactions when Spain's Carlos Alcaraz took off his shirt."
Morgan’s X post garnered over one million views as his followers reacted to the caption.
“Show women this the next time anyone says they want EQUALITY. Keep those wages apart. Keep those jobs separate,” wrote a fan in the replies on X.
Another wrote, “Double standards by the broadcast company isn't it? Double standards by those women, some wearing wedding or engagement rings. Imagine if it were the husband doing that!?”
“Yep the double standards would destroy everything we hold dear,” said a third.
However, some people criticized Piers Morgan for criticizing the female spectators.
Taking aim at the journalist, one fan wrote, "Now, imagine you having a brain. Can't happen."
Another said, "Why you mad? The world is correcting. You should be supporting this!"
"Because women don’t rpe, they aren’t p£dophiles, and they aren’t stalkers," said an X user defending the women.
The video was shot on Friday when defending champion Carlos Alcaraz underlined his status as the man to beat at the US Open with a ruthless 6-3, 6-4, 6-1 victory over China's Wu Yibing.
