Katy Perry reveals what she struggled to find in her relationship with Orlando Bloom
The kind of love Katy Perry craved in her former partner Orlando Bloom, her boyfriend Justin Trudeau has filled that void.
While promoting her concert film, Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour - Live from Paris, in a talk with PEOPLE magazine, the 41-year-old American singer, songwriter, and television personality opened up about her life after she met the former prime minister of Canada.
Perry called her breakup with Bloom in July of last year “the hardest time,” as she ended her 10-year relationship and six-year engagement in June 2025.
The Last Friday Night songstress and The Lord of the Rings star also welcomed their daughter Daisy Dove Bloom in 2020.
Calling to mind that time, she shared, “My friends were all hanging out back home. I was crying and just feeling far away. But then my angels went to work. They really showed up.”
Notably, a month after her separation from Bloom, Perry was seen on a dinner date with Trudeau in Montreal, and just two days later, he was spotted enjoying her show there.
Referring to her recent relationship, the Part of Me crooner confessed that she has found the “love of her life” in Trudeau.
She said, “I wouldn’t have stayed in something for nine years if there wasn’t really important things to learn. Each relationship is a teacher, right?”
“I had to let it go so I could move forward. I always wanted this epic legendary love, and I was talking to my therapist about it: everything in my life is epic, but this is kind of the missing puzzle piece — then it showed up.”
“He knows the words, he’s supportive, and he’s in awe; it’s super healing,” Katy Perry said of Justin Trudeau.
It is pertinent to mention that Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour - Live from Paris opened in select theatres and IMAX on September 2, 2026.
