Matthew Hayden's daughter Grace reveals how they 'keep each other accountable'

Grace Hayden has finally revealed how her father, Matthew Hayden, the legendary Australian cricketer, treats her.

While establishing her name as a sports presenter, the 24-year-old chatted with Savanna Young for Daily Mail, where she stated that she cannot expect appreciation every time from her father.

She told Young that Matthew never shies away from giving his honest take on how she tackles stuff as he watches her regularly on television.

Grace said she can never include her dad’s remarks in flattery, as she called to mind brutal WhatsApp messages she receives from him.

She shared, "I get WhatsApp messages of, ‘Grace, that was s**t.'"

Being her daughter, Grace replies to him with one-word answer, “Thanks, Dad!”

She went on to explain, “We definitely don't shy away from feedback in the Hayden household. We keep each other accountable, but I like it that way.”

Grace confessed that her father’s unfiltered criticism has immensely helped her become a better version of herself and unlock great achievements at her job.

“Critical feedback makes you better. Dad definitely is one of those people that doesn't just tell you what you want to hear,” she stated.
