Lionel Richie's latest health update laid bare after he landed in 'ICU': Report

Lionel Richie is currently receiving treatment in a medical center in St. Louis, as reports suggest that the singer might travel back home on September 2.

As per a recent report, the 77-year-old Grammy-winning artist is undergoing cardiac tests in an ICU, and medical staff is monitoring his condition.

His medical emergency came after he became weary at the end of his concert while performing the final song, All Night Long, at The Muny in Forest Park.

Richie asked for the team to bring him a chair during the performance and later checked himself into the ICU as a precaution.

Richie is currently on his Sing a Song All Night Long tour with Earth, Wind & Fire and his next show is scheduled on September 26 in San Francisco.

It is pertinent to mention that this is the second hospitalization of Richie in the last few months while performing.

On June 24, during the first show of his tour, the singer cut his performance short after he began to feel ill onstage.

At the time, Richie even joked about feeling dizzy and performing his song Dancing on the Ceiling while seated.

He later postponed his two shows after his doctors told him to “rest and return to full health.”

He returned to the stage on June 30.
