Leonard Williams agrees to blockbuster $90m extension with Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks are signing defensive tackle Leonard Williams to a three-year, $90 million contract extension, according to multiple reports.
Sources told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport that the deal will make Williams one of the NFL's highest-paid defensive tackles.
ESPN reported that $56 million is guaranteed.
Williams, 32, had been scheduled to become a free agent in 2027. His new $30 million average annual salary puts him among the five highest-paid players at his position.
The deal follows another strong season for Williams, who helped Seattle win Super Bowl LX after the Seahawks finished 2025 with the NFL's top-ranked scoring defence.
Williams recorded seven sacks during the regular season and another in the playoffs.
He earned second-team All-Pro honours and made his second consecutive Pro Bowl with Seattle.
In an ESPN offseason survey of NFL executives, scouts and coaches, Williams was ranked the league's best defensive tackle.
“That was amazing. I think it's awesome to get that recognition, especially later in my career,” Williams told ESPN about the recognition.
Seattle acquired Williams from the New York Giants in October 2023 and previously played for the New York Jets, who selected him sixth overall in the 2015 NFL Draft.
