Prince William and Kate Middleton have lost thousands of followers on social media platform, X
Prince William and Kate Middleton have long remained the most popular members of the British royal family.
However, the future king and queen's popularity on one particular platform seems to have hit a stumbling block.
The couple, who were close to hitting three million followers a couple of months ago have instead lost thousands of followers on X.
The future king and queen, who had 2.9 million followers on X till the start of August 2026, now stand at 2.8 million.
With the couple and their communications team largely relying on Instagram to spread their message, their lackluster interest in engaging people on X is evident from the follower count they've achieved over the past year.
It comes as reports said that William's younger brother, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle are returning to the UK.
The reports said that the Duchess of Sussex may be returning to acting with a role in the Netflix series "The Gentlemen."
The Hollywood Reporter said the duchess was in advanced talks to appear in a third season of the series created by Guy Ritchie. Another Hollywood publication, Deadline, said the discussions were "hypothetical," given that the show has not yet been renewed for a third season. The second season is scheduled to be released next month.
