Newcastle United buys £190m estate for new training complex

Newcastle United have reportedly agreed to purchase the site for a new £190m training complex, marking a significant move to construct the advanced training camp.

The club will acquire 260 acres of land at the Woolsington Hall estate previously owned by chairman Sir John Hall.

The primary motive behind Newcastle's plan is to build a new premium player development hub for the men’s first team and academy with the flexibility to incorporate bespoke women’s facilities as well.

In light of the current landmark project, Chief executive David Hopkinson said: “Subject to planning permission, our proposed performance complex will create the world's best performance environment for our teams.”

“We'll develop purpose-built facilities that are geared towards developing sustainable success in the future, where players, coaches and staff can perform at their very best every day.”

“We will be submitting a detailed planning application that not only demonstrates our vision, but also how we will preserve and enhance a historic estate, its biodiversity and wildlife habitats, and how we'll be a great neighbor.”

Furthermore, the club confirmed that it was focused on executing the plan and stressed that it would work closely with the local community to deliver the best results.
