Prince Harry’s foundation finally issues a long awaited update
Days after an incident involving Uganda, Prince Harry’s foundation, the Invictus Games has finally released its first ever statement about the future and what they have in store for veterans and those who got wounded in the in combat.
The update has been shared directly on the foundations’s Instagram account and reads, “today, the Invictus Games Foundation visited NATO in Brussels to share how sport is supporting the recovery of wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans in Ukraine.”
“Presenting to NATO’s Military Committee, Deputy CEO, Richard Smith CBE and Chief International Programmes & Strategy, David Wiseman outlined our work through our Signature Programme for Ukraine and our plans to establish 21 Invictus Recovery Spaces by 2027, across the country.”
“These spaces will bring adaptive sports opportunities into existing veterans’ hubs and rehabilitation facilities with our goal to make recovery more accessible to veterans across Ukraine, throughout the year.”
As for what the foundation is, and does. Their impact statement reads, “The Invictus Games Foundation offers a recovery pathway for international wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women (WIS). We collaborate to provide opportunities for post-traumatic growth: enabling those involved to reclaim their purpose, identity and future, beyond injury.”
