As he has remained distant from the Royal Family for the past few years, now, "Andrew feels he's been abandoned.” a source claimed. "Feels like he is no longer part of the family."

Adding, "He was invited but has got no great desire to be at Balmoral as he has nothing to gain and would be treated as an outcast."

"What's the point, he feels, of going all the way there for a much-needed holiday and being treated as an elephant in the room?" they further claimed.

Rumors have spread that the royal and King Charles hardly met each other this whole year and this could be the reason behind his refusal.

It is pertinent to mention that the change in the former Duke of York’s royal status came into the spotlight along with his Jeffrey Epstein controversy and he publicly stepped back from his royal duties in November 2019.

Furthermore, the monarch stripped him of his titles including Prince in the late 2025 in order to distance the monarchy from mounting public outrage and ongoing scandals Andrew Mountbatten Windsor's past association with Jeffrey Epstein.
