Anne Hathaway drops bombshell on Julie Andrews' absence from 'The Princess Diaries 3'

Anne Hathaway recently reflected on Julie Andrews’ absence from The Princess Diaries 3.

For those unaware, Hathaway and Andrews played the roles of Mia Thermopolis and Queen Clarisse Renaldi, respectively, in the family comedy film The Princess Diaries 1 and 2. The third instalment is currently in early development at Disney; however, Andrews has confirmed that she will not return to reprise her role in the forthcoming film.

While conversing with Entertainment Weekly before her Disney Legends induction at the D23 convention, the 43-year-old American actress, who will return to The Princess Diaries 3, revealed what she will miss the most about the legendary English actress, singer, and author.

Hathaway said of the 90-year-old, “She’s so warm and she’s so gracious and she’s so funny,” adding that she will pine for her “sense of humor” when cameras finally roll on the project.

The Odyssey star went on to share Andrews “brings magic with her wherever she goes. She’s this amazing love conductor.”

“People feel so safe loving her, and she’s so beautiful at receiving love and giving it back to people. And who doesn’t want to be around people like that,” she explained.

It is pertinent to mention that Anne Hathaway is “100 percent” committed to bringing The Princess Diaries 3 theatres with Disney.
