Kate Middleton, Prince William ultimately "failed"
The royal insiders have claimed that Meghan Markle and Harry do not need Prince William and Kate Middleton's approval to find their way back into royal fold.
The claims have been made as King Charles is eager to reconcile with Harry and Meghan.
The insiders told the Examiner, "It's becoming increasingly clear that they don't need William and Kate's approval to find their way back into the royal fold, which of course has really boosted Meghan's confidence.”
Another close confidant tells the outlet, the California-based royal couple believe William, and presumably Kate, “went out of their way to make life as difficult and painful as possible for them and tried to block them at every turn."
But the future King and Queen ultimately "failed."
Moreover, a palace insider has said, "The fact that the king is working so hard to put this rift in the past, and that he's laying the groundwork for the future, not just for Harry and Meghan but for their children and future generations, is hugely satisfying.”
Royal expert Dan Wootton, during a recent appearance on The Megyn Kelly Show, has also revealed that the monarch has not only offered Palace to Meghan and Harry “any time they want”, he has also invited them to spend time with him this summer at the royal family's private Balmoral estate.
Sharing the true feelings of Meghan and Harry over the development, the insiders said they are both “feeling pretty vindicated.”
"That being said, they would still very much like to have a better relationship with William and Kate, and they intend to work towards that."
